The Importance of Good Tires
Tires are ultimately one of the most important features of your vehicle. However, tires lose traction as they get older and can deteriorate from the inside out – increasing risk of bursting while on the road. Providing support and safety, it's critical that your tires are inflated and maintained properly over time.
Determining Tire Age
Three digits within the oval means that the tire was made before the 2000's. The first two digits indicate the week of the year that the tire was made and the last digit indicates which year it was made. For example: 239 – 23rd week of 1999.
However, due to confusion over if the tire was made in the 80's or 90's, tires were switched to a four-digit system in 2000 – the first two digits being the week of the year and the last two indicating which year. For example: 3209 – 32nd week of 2009.
